A removable prosthesis on implants is ideal for a patient whose dentures are unstable in the mouth. It is often offered when the bone under the gum is no longer able to perform proper retention of the gum.

Bone resorption largely explains the lack of retention.

The tooth roots exert pressure on the jawbone, allowing it to retain its volume. As soon as a tooth is absent, this strength no longer exists and the bone tends to atrophy. A dental arch stripped of its teeth will inevitably thin over time. This is what happens to denture wearers.

This situation leads to instability of the prosthesis, discomfort and sometimes even injuries to the tissues of the mouth. The dentures must therefore be adjusted frequently to avoid any hassle.

Removable implant-supported dentures are a great option.

As the implant acts as a root, it helps to preserve bone mass and stabilizes the prosthesis. Generally, two or four implants are needed to install this type of prosthesis. It stays in place with an anchoring system, while being easy to remove. Two systems are possible, either spherical attachments or a support bar.

This way, the teeth stay firmly in place so that you can enjoy a social life without apprehension when it comes to smiling or eating.
